This was great advice…I’ve been in situations in my life when a pocket knife has been a real lifesaver.
He gave me my first “Barlow” knife when I was 6 years old. This of course against my Mom’s wishes. A pocket knife is good for so many things, opening packages, cutting rope when you can’t untie a knot, trimming your finger nails, scraping something off your shoe, as a screwdriver, etc.
Now you may think 6 years old was too young, but my dad started me out young on a lot of things…and I will think of my father for the rest of my life anytime someone says “Hey does anyone have a blade?”
It’s funny to me that even the sight of a pocket knife like the extreme Swiss Army Knife above makes me think of my father…Thanks Dad!
