I never gave much thought to how I part my hair…what’s left of it. But, siblings and Sociologists John and Catherine Walter have and they’ve discovered that how you part your hair does make a difference in your personal image. For instance, men who part on the left are seen as popular and successful. Women who part on the left are reliable and intelligent. On the right side of things, men take on a radical and open quality while women are considered to be gentle and feminine. And what did the Walters learn about those who part down the middle, don’t part at all or can’t part because of baldness? Those lucky folks are seen as trustworthy and wise. Does the way you part your hair really reflect your personal image or is this theory more apt to fall a-part?
