The World Famous Blue Angels Will Be Coming To Town

Being an old retired Air Force guy it’s hard for me to say this, but when it comes to pushing an aircraft to its limits, no one does it better than our Naval aviators. The aerial ballet of the world famous Navy Blue Angels will be coming to Scott Air Force Base on Saturday September 11 and Sunday September 12.

The current schedule looks like this:

9 a.m. – Gates open
11 a.m. – Pre-show featuring the Army Golden Knights
11:30 a.m. – Opening ceremony featuring the Golden Knights
11:45 a.m. – C-21, C-9, and KC-135
Noon – Matt Chapman/CAP 580
12:15 p.m. – T-33 Ace Maker
12:30 p.m. – F-16 Viper
12:42 p.m. – Pitts S2S
1 p.m. – Tora Tora Tora
1:15 p.m. – Red Bull Motocross demo
1:30 p.m. – MIG 17
1:45 p.m. – F-4 Phantom, A-10 Thunderbolt II, F-16 Viper
2:20 p.m. – U.S. Army Golden Knights
2:50 p.m. – C-17
3 p.m. – Blue Angels performance
5 p.m. – Gates close

A word to the wise… these air shows are very loud and I strongly suggest parents bring ear protection for the kids.
