Tonight, LL Cool J will host an hour long show announcing the Grammy nominations that will include a performance by Miranda Lambert and other likely nominees. The special is set to take place live on CBS at 10pm EST from Club Nokia in Los Angeles.
Lady Antebellum is likely to be nominated for their sophomore album, Need You Now, which was the second best-selling album of the year, behind Eminem’s Recovery. Not only is the trio likely to get nominations in country categories, but also for song and record of the year and maybe even album of the year.
Another country artist that could also find herself in the album of the year category is Miranda Lambert, who is set to perform tonight, for her album Revolver. Lambert is excited to perform tonight. “This is kind of a cool thing for me, an introduction to this world. There’s other great artists on the bill, and it’s not just country, it’s across the board for music genres, and I’m just glad to be here representing country music.”
Taylor Swift took home the album of the year trophy for her multiplatinum “Fearless” at last season’s Grammys. Can country artists do it again on Sunday, February 13, 2011 when the Grammys will be awarded live from the Staples Center in LA and broadcast live on CBS? We will have to wait and see.
