Carrie Underwood recently grabbed headlines with her eyecatching $31 million diamond necklace that she wore to the Grammy Awards, but another country starlet wore a bracelet with a sweeter story. Taylor Swift wore a stunning champagne diamond and amethyst-adorned bracelet that was made by a young cancer patient. And according to People’s StyleWatch, the world-renowned Bergdorf Goodman department store in New York City has already requested the bracelet for retail — not knowing the creator was just a child.
The child that made the bracelet worked with jeweler Lorraine Schwartz as part of Gabrielle’s Angel Foundation. Lorraine works with the foundation to teach children ages 6-15 to make jewelry. The kids then use their newly acquired skill as art therapy. The kids got a huge thrill of a lifetime when they found out that some of music’s biggest stars would be sporting their creations.
Those who have worn jewelry created by the children include Taylor Swift, Beyonce, Katy Perry, and Miley Cyrus.
