Has American Idol jumped the Shark???

As I watched American Idol last night, I realized it had taken on a been there done that quality. I wished I were watching something else. House, The Simpsons, South Park...anything else. I believe American Idol has jumped the Shark. Are you familiar with the Jump the Shark philosophy???  It originated with Happy Days when Fonzie  literally jumped a shark on water skiis. It was at that point many believe the series had seperated from reality. Now it is applied to good shows that have gone bad. After 8 seasons American Idol has Jumped the Shark! We've seen it all before by now. When Randy has to say over and over, "THis is the weirdest season yet." Is it really all that weird? I think not~!
