Cornbread Cares for Kids - Fundraisers

September – The Goddard School St. Charles

Month of September: Change for Charity - Each Classroom will receive an empty milk jug and as a school we will play PENNY WARS! The object of this game is to have the most pennies. So send your child into school with your extra pocket change. Then parents can put silver change into other classrooms jugs and your silver will cancel out the pennies. At the end of the month we will count how many pennies are in each jug. But... if there are quarters in the jug they are -25, dimes in the jug they are -10, and nickels in the jug they are -5. Whichever classroom ends up with the highest number of pennies after they have subtracted their silver change, they get an ICE CREAM PARTY!!! Then all of the change from every classroom is donated.

October – The Goddard School St. Charles

Friday, October 7, 2011: Trike-A-Thon- From 9:00-12:00 Dolphin-Sea Lion classrooms will have a bike day. For your child to participate you will need to pay $10.00, bring in a scooter, bike, tricycle, or big wheels (no motorized please), a helmet, and sign a consent form. Our parking lot will be blocked off from all traffic, and each classroom will be given one hour to ride with their friends! Then all of the bike money will be donated!

November – The Goddard School St. Charles

Friday, November 11, 2011: Charity Parents Night Out

Thursday, November 17, 2011: Silent Auction Art Show- Come join us for a family friendly art show! All children will have a piece of art displayed for our art show and art will be for sale. We have many "starving artists" in our school so come on out and show your support. Each classroom will make a large piece of art and these pieces will be sold via a silent auction. During this event you can drop your child off in the Sea Lions or Puffins Room and they will be entertained while you enjoy cheese, crackers, and sparkling wine.

December – The Goddard School St. Charles

December 5-9: Drop Everything and Read! For one week, we will be asking for pledges from family members for reading time. Two weeks prior to this event we will send home pledge forms. Any adult family members can pledge any amount per minute for their child. Throughout this week our Goddard classrooms will Stop, Drop, and Read at different times of the day. At the end of the week we will post how many minutes each class read and at this time parents will be responsible for paying for their pledges!

Thank you so much in advance for your help and support. Every little bit helps, and as a whole we can make a big difference. If you have any questions or input please visit Ms. Abby in the Jellyfish room!
