35 million people,, being obese, no are my answers rnrni know that i need to lose weight because i am more than 100 pounds overweight and it is a health risk. the thing that is holding me back is the fact i do not have health insurance coverage to have the 17,000.00 procedure. and in this day and time the way the system works the health care industry and employers and the government are not trying to do what they can with the preventive medicine. they would much rather you have a stroke or heart attack, then you may qualify for medical assistance. isnt it better to try to help someone with the financial end of it now before they have a major medical occurance. if they lose the weight let them make financial payments to the doctors just like they pay back student loans to the government. if i had the insurrance i would do the lap band procedure in a heartbeat. or even gastric if i could but back to square 1 the main thing stopping me from being more healthy in my life at the age of 46 is no proper insurance coverage. i am not asking for being a size 2 skinny, just losing a big majority of this weight to be able to live another 46 years as healthy (so far ) as the first 46.
