In America, most of us are swallowing 22 teaspoons of sugar each day and the American Heart Association says it time to cut waaaaayyy back.
The average woman should consume about 6 teaspoons per day while the average male should take in 9.
The main sugar offenders are soft drinks followed by candy, cakes, cookies and pies. All the stuff we love, right? But too much sugar does too much damage to the human body...and added weight is just one negative side effect.
The AHA recommends removing all sugar sodas from your diet and of course, limit those candy consumptions...sorry Snickers. Sweets are just one part of the equation to a healthy you...you also have to watch your fat intake. So, like the old saying, "everything in moderation" is really a pretty good motto...now where's my Hostess cupcake?
