While surfing the web the other night, I ran across some simple tips to keep more of your money in your wallet/purse.
Do you have a lamp or tv near your thermostat? That is costing you money! The thermostat is reading a hotter house temperature causing your ac to run longer and costing you more dollars.
Keep your drapes or blinds closed on wingers facing south or west...that will save 2 to 4% on energy bills...also, keep drapes and blinds closed in rooms that you don't use. I'm kinda thinking that keeping them open in the winter is a good thing to let as much sun and warmth in as possible.
Keep furniture away from the heating and cooling vents....that sounds right and will save about 20 bucks a year.
Is that extra fridge or freezer really needed? if not, unplug it and save about $130 a year.
use glass or ceramic pans in the oven...they heat up faster.
cfl bulbs are the way to go...although I have had issues with them not lasting years and years.
put your computer in the sleep mode when left unused for 20 to 30 minutes..
Try any or all of these tips and you'll have more coins left over at the end of every month!
