Country Superstar Garth Brooks has announced that he is coming out of retirement. Brooks, now 47, announced at a news conference in Nashville a move that has been rumored in the music industry for weeks...... that he will end his retirement.
"We're going to take the retirement roof off over our head, and I already feel taller," Brooks said Thursday. Brooks stated that there are no immediate plans, he will see how things go in the coming years. "As for touring, if I can't eat it, sleep it, breathe it, then it ain't me," Brooks said.
In 2000, Brooks retired to spend more time with his three children. He has mostly stayed out of the limelight, although he has made occasional appearances at awards shows and charity events. In 2007, Brooks was honored with a career award from the Recording Industry Association of America after he passed Elvis to become the top-selling solo artist in US History by selling more than 123 million albums. The last time that Brooks released a studio album was 2001 when he released Scarecrow. His Ulitmate Hits finished 10th on Billboard's 2008 list of albums.
