One More Reason To Like Working Here

As I sit at the WIL News Desk this morning, I reminded of yet another reason I like working here.  As I scan the news ticker, read the local fish wrap and visit news web sources I read this headline "JC Corcoran out at K-Hits."

JC is a controversial figure and has rubbed many people the wrong way, but he is a hard worker, a proven radio producer and a pro.  He deserves better and something better will come his way.  I'm not a 'they say that....' guy.  I evaluate people by my own experiences with them.  There is no doubt that JC has his edgier moments, but he's a guy cares about the right kind of stuff, has always been friendly and respectful to me and goes out of his way to support those that he knows and cares about.

Those are pretty good qualities in my book.

Which brings me back to the title of this blog.  I'm so glad to work at a station that 'gets it.'  Our bosses are supportive, demand high quality and productivity, but are realistic and totally believe in what we're doing on the Cornbread Morning Show and the rest of the station.  They are Country Music people.  They are fans of the show, supporters of the Race for the Cure, Cardinal fans, regular people with a great deal of professionalism.

I'm not knocking people at other stations, but I am bragging about our bosses here. They keep us accountable, but are totally positive.  They call us on the carpet, but they always have the WIL Family in mind.

JC has been a money producer for his employers for more than a quarter of a century and for whatever reason he got whacked this week, it just reminded me why WIL management stands out above the rest.  They know what they're doing and how to build a successful station that maintains a light environment.

Keep your head up JC and "Thanks Boss!"

Do Good.
