At a time when the economy is in frenzy, USA Today on Monday took a look at the touring industry as a way of gaging the state of the music business. And when the newspaper got down to the nitty gritty, it wasn't a rap, classic rock or a pop act, but KENNY CHESNEY who came out on top.

... USA Today said: The country music star remains the heavyweight touring champ. His Sun City Carnival tour kicked off in April and played to packed houses from small venues to stadiums throughout summer. It has been a remarkable run for Chesney: seven straight years above a million in ticket sales, unprecedented for country. He has a great relationship with his fans. They were looking for a good time, and Kenny delivered.
