This is, I think the third time it has gone on the ballot, it was voted down the previous two times. I voted no before, and I am voting no again. What happened to personal freedom?? I know it is unhealthy, and don't condone anyone starting to smoke. But I believe it should be up to individual resturaunts to determine what is best for clients. We have become a much more intolerant society. A lot of people believe in freedom, until they disagree with it, then they want it banned for everyone else. Vote no on the Smoking Ban tomorrow!
- It rocks!
- Its just stupid.
- Its SPAM.
- Its offensive.
- Nevermind.
Vinny63070 135 Days agoThis is really a question about what is more important. The right of the Business owner to make money any way he want, or the health, safety, and welfare of the employees and customers.
Some say that employees do not need to work in a location if they do not like it, and customers have a choice. If you are a 17 year old kid how needs a job, you do not have lots of choices. Also, there are few restaurant choices for non smokers who have medical conditions that prevent them from being around the smoke. They are literally banned from many establishments that allow smoking and prohibited from participating fully in the community. If this ban passes, smokers will still be able to go to every place they could go before, but many of our seniors and young people will also be able to go to these same places they are currently prohibited from going to.
In the end, you ask what happened to personal freedom. It seems the question is What is more important. A persons freedom to Smoke or the freedom of everyone else in the community to go to establishments public places and enjoy clean air. Should one's freedom to smoke take away another persons freedom to breath clean air?
Good Luck on your stance tomorrow.
