My Best List of Best Lists From 2008

Every year around the end of December, "Best of" lists start popping up everywhere you look. And while they won't be nearly as cool at Chris Files' upcoming toasty compilation (check back later this week), there are a few "Best of" and "Top-10" lists out there that are worth checking out. And since there are so many of them that are completely lame, I've waded through them for you in search of the good stuff. I think I finally ended up with the best of the best-of lists in 2008:

• Best Books - Amazon.com's list of the 100 best books of 2008 according to the 'editor's picks.' And since none of the books from the Twilight series cracked the Top-10, Amazon also ranked a list of customer favorites.
• Top 10 National Geographic Photos - These are always pretty cool to look at. My personal favorite is the one of the lizard and the snake trying to eat each other at the same time.
• Best Dressed - People magazine is king of these kinds of lists each year. And while there are a couple of best dressed stars on this one that I don't necessarily agree with, the overall list is in good taste.
• Best YouTube Videos - These are all pretty good, and since most of the other ones that I would have suggested aren't exactly appropriate, I'll settle for these. My only qualm is that "Cory won't take off his sunglasses" is number four. Really?
• Top 10 'Pop' Songs - Music is always a toughie if you're trying to please everyone, but this assortment of tunes is pretty accurate in my opinion. And since I didn't even recognize any of the artists in the top-10 album lists I found...

And although this one has nothing to do with 2008 drawing to a close, I thought these Top 10 Harmless Geek Pranks were too good to pass up.
