3-year-old Reese :
'Our Father, Who does art in heaven,
Harold is His name.

Amen.'
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
A little boy was overheard praying:
'Lord, if you can't make me a better boy, don't worry about it.
I'm having a real good time like I am.'
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ ~~~~~~~~~~~~~

After the christening of his baby brother in church,
Jason sobbed all the way home in the back seat of the car.
His father asked him three times what was wrong.
Finally, the boy replied,
'That preacher said he wanted us brought up in a Christian home,
And I wanted to stay with you guys.'

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
One particular four-year-old prayed,
'And forgive us our trash baskets
As we forgive those who put trash in our baskets.'
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

A Sunday school teacher asked her children as they
Were on the way to church service,
'And why is it necessary to be quiet in church?'
One bright little girl replied,
'Because people are sleeping.'

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
A mother was preparing pancakes for her sons, Kevin 5, and Ryan 3.
The boys began to argue over who would get the first pancake.
Their mother saw the opportunity for a moral lesson.
'If Jesus were sitting here, He would say,
'Let my brother have the first pancake, I can wait.'
Kevin turned to his younger brother and said,
' Ryan , you be Jesus !'
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

A father was at the beach with his children
When the four-year-old son ran up to him,
Grabbed his hand, and led him to the shore
Where a seagull lay dead in the sand.
'Daddy, what happened to him?' the son asked.
'He died and went to Heaven,' the Dad replied.
The boy thought a moment and then said,
'Did God throw him back down?'
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
A wife invited some people to dinner.
At the table, she turned to their six-year-old daughter and said,
'Would you like to say the blessing?'
'I wouldn't know what to say,' the girl replied..
'Just say what you hear Mommy say,' the wife answered
The daughter bowed her head and said,
'Lord, why on earth did I invite all these people to dinner?'
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

<![CDATA[WHAT THE TEACHER SAYS...WHAT THEY REALLY MEAN]]> 40484 Mon, 08 Mar 2010 13:44:53 -0700

Political correctness is shaping how teachers talk to parents.

Let me translate for you.

•Your son has a remarkable ability in gathering needed information from his classmates. (He was caught cheating on a test).

• Karen is an endless fund of energy and viability. (The hyperactive monster can't stay seated for five minutes).

• Fantastic imagination! Unmatched in his capacity for blending fact with fiction. (He's definitely one of the biggest liars I have ever met).

• Margie exhibits a casual, relaxed attitude to school, indicating that high expectations don't intimidate her. (The lazy thing hasn't done one assignment all semester).

• Her athletic ability is marvelous. Superior hand-eye coordination. (The little creep stung me with a rubber band from 15 feet away).

• Nick thrives on interaction with his peers. (Your son needs to stop socializing and start working).

• Your daughter's greatest asset is her demonstrative public discussions. (Classroom lawyer! Why is it that every time I explain an assignment she creates a class argument).

• John enjoys the thrill of engaging challenges with his peers. (He's a bully).

• An adventurous nature lover who rarely misses opportunities to explore new territory. (Your daughter was caught skipping school at the fishing pond).

• I am amazed at her tenacity in retaining her youthful personality. (She's so immature that we've run out of diapers).

• Unlike some students who hide their emotion, Charles is very expressive and open. (He must have written the Whiner's Guide).

• I firmly believe that her intellectual and emotional progress would be enhanced through a year's repetition of her learning environment. (Regretfully, we believe that she is not ready for high school and must repeat the 8th grade).

• Her exuberant verbosity is awesome! (A mouth that never stops yacking).

<![CDATA[BIRTH ORDER MATTERS! Who woulda thunk it.]]> 40472 Mon, 08 Mar 2010 13:33:25 -0700

I may not agree with the results of this book but I'm here to tell you that being the baby of the family is best. My Mom and Dad had my older sister to practice on before I came around...and since practice makes perfect...tada! Here I am! LOL!!!

Birth order matters, according to Dr. Kevin Leman, author of The Birth Order Book -- Why You Are the Way You Are.

* First Child: perfectionist, reliable, conscientious, a list maker, well organized, hard driving, a natural leader, critical, serious, scholarly, logical, doesn’t like surprises, a techie.

* Middle Child: mediator, compromising, diplomatic, avoids conflict, independent, loyal to peers, has many friends, a maverick, secretive, used to not having attention.

* Youngest Child: manipulative, charming, blames others, attention seeker, tenacious, people person, natural salesperson, precocious, engaging, affectionate, loves surprises.

* Only Child: little adult by age seven, very thorough, deliberate, high achiever, self-motivated, fearful, cautious, voracious reader, black-and-white thinker, talks in extremes, can’t bear to fail, has very high expectations for self, more comfortable with people who are older or younger.

<![CDATA[ADVICE FOR MEN: WAYS TO KEEP YOUR RELATIONSHIP STRONG]]> 39801 Wed, 03 Mar 2010 10:16:47 -0700 A long time ago we learned that men are from Mars and women are from Venus...obviously Martians and Venusions (sp?) speak different languages...but there are things we can do to keep our relationships strong. Hope it helps! Chivalry might be on life support but it's not a lost cause. Check this out.

Be Nice
This one seems easy yet many guys struggle with it. And it can be difficult after being nagged and bothered after coming home from a long day at work. But this is all about swallowing your pride for the better good of the relationship.

Compliment
Women love compliments and, you can earn major points by telling your woman that she looks good, or that she looks sexy in the outfit she has on that day. The key to this is keeping your compliment ratio high but not too high or the compliments will lose their effectiveness.

Help around the house
So often it's the little things. Wash the dishes, break out the vacuum cleaner, or fix that item that your woman has been begging you to fix for months. Most chores take just a few minutes but can take a huge load off your wife's back.

Be Romantic
Most guys make the mistake of thinking romance is all about what happens in the bedroom. But romance is all about being spontaneous. The worse thing that can happen to your relationship is for it to turn "routine". This step is very hard because of work, kids and other things that force you into a set daily schedule. But you have to find time to surprise your woman with a gift, a message or even ask her out on a date.

Compromise
You're going to have to give up some of the time from one of your hobbies in order to show that you are willing to sacrifice for the relationship. Or you may have to go on a date to the movies and watch a "girly" movie (and pretend to enjoy it). And while it's OK to make it known that you are sacrificing, don't make her feel like she is dragging you into doing something.

Listen
This one is important because women love to talk about feelings and all that stuff that us men don't really care about. When your woman wants to engage in "feeling" talk it is very important that you listen. And only listen. Responding and trying to solve "feelings" is next to impossible for us guys. So keep it simple by letting her know you understand how she feels (even though you are probably lost in space).

<![CDATA[What to buy in March?]]> 39718 Tue, 02 Mar 2010 14:02:51 -0700

Don't you just love getting a good deal? They say the time of the year makes a difference and Lifehacker.com says these are the things we should be buying in March.

 Winter coats & sporting goods: The season to sell people warm coats, gloves, scarves, and other gear is right near the end, and to make room for the spring stock, stores are selling it all off at a discount. The same goes for snowboards, ski gear, and other winter activity accessories.

 Luggage: It's an odd season, halfway between the periods when most cold-weather residents do most of their warm-weather traveling. Luggage makers are getting ready to roll out new wares, and stores are looking to drop the stock they've got.

 Frozen food: Yeah, it's one of those goofy "months" that seem like they don't need a month. But during National Frozen Food Month, your own nearby grocers might be offering discounts and coupons on stuff that can hold for a long time.

 Boats: According to MSN Money/Bankrate.com, March is the tail end of the winter boat show season, so there's a good chance you'll catch a dealer looking to both make a splash with a reasonable price, and see both last year's and this year's models.

... What to buy throughout winter (January, February, March)

 Gas grills & air conditioners: They're a bit cheaper now because it's obviously an off-season time to buy them. The selection might be a bit limited, but, really, there won't be major, life-changing events in the fields of freon-based cooling or flame-based cooking between now and late May.

 Homes: It's actually a mixed bag for those looking to buy a home right now. If you and the seller can sign a "binding sales contract" before April 30, the $8,000 federal housing tax credit can land in your lap. And those looking to sell their homes in winter can be both those with serious intent to move (read: "motivated sellers") and, under the right circumstances, negotiated with for a lower, off-peak price. Then again, the selection and appearance of homes this time of year isn't usually ideal, so you'll have to be willing to dig around and look past the superficial to find a true bargain.

<![CDATA[DUMP THE FRUIT JUICE ]]> 39710 Tue, 02 Mar 2010 13:25:54 -0700 I remember when kids that drank Sunny D on a regular noticed an orange hue to their skin...remember that? Well moms and dads...new research says that fruit juices drunk by millions of children each day could contain a harmful chemical linked to cancer, scientists have warned.

Researchers have found high levels of antimony -- which can be lethal in large doses -- in many popular brands. Scientists from the University of Copenhagen found that bottles of fruit juice and squash contained up to 2.5 times more of the substance as is deemed 'safe' in tap water, under EU guidelines.

In some cases the levels of antimony were ten times higher. The scientists believe that the chemical is leaching its way into the fruit juice from the plastic bottles which hold it. Previous research found traces of the chemical in bottled mineral water which experts believed was leaching in from the plastic container.

I say stick to drinking from the water hose and you'll be fine!

RROOFF!!!

(I'm not a dr. or scientist)

<![CDATA[Please join me at the Freedom Fashion show this Saturday night.]]> 38911 Wed, 24 Feb 2010 17:05:02 -0700

When you think of fashion...I know you think of me...NOT! But this event is to support a great place for our injured veterans to go and relax. Established in 2007, Camp Hope is located 70 miles south of St. Louis in the plush land of Farmington, MO. One hundred and seventy acres of beautiful rolling hills and hardwood ridges are available to our veterans for their year round enjoyment, recovery, and well being. Camp Hope is located in an area that has a lot to offer American veterans. State and National Parks surround the area with numerous activities such as fishing, canoeing, hiking and golf. Chris Neal Farm is a partner of Camp Hope and is dedicated to offering some of the best hunting in Missouri. It is our hope that these fine Americans will experience lasting memories and perhaps lasting relationships at Camp Hope.

Click here for all the details on Saturday night.

I hope to see you there.

RROOFF!!!
