So what does a girl (or guy) do when they have dreamed of a beautiful PERFECT wedding most of their life, but don't have the funds? Let's face it, the hard part is over, right? You've found that perfect "someone". So you can still have a wonderful, memorable day, without spending your first year of bliss in debt!
There's a great website here http://www.tipsforbudgetweddings.com/ that gives you a lot of great ideas and ways to save money!
Some of their tips: Lower the guest list! Seriously, people WILL understand, as much as you think they won't. You don't have to invite your manicurist, mailman and every acquaintance at work! Remember it's YOUR day and it should be celebrated with the closest people in your life!
Look for a church that offers complte services or all inclusive packages, rather than separate fees that can add up. Rent the church alone, or hire your own minister.
You can also save a great deal of money by hosting your ceremony outside, like in a park or beautiful beach or even a green yard!
Have a casual reception and serve bbq items like burgers, chicken and ribs! And remember buffet style is less expensive than sit down meals! Also if you host your reception with a "theme" you're more apt to save money!
Serving alcohol is a big expense at weddings. So you might think about perhaps only serving wine or beer. Or get your spirits in bulk order, it's less expensive that way.
Do you know anyone who is extremely good with a camera? Perhaps they will photograph your wedding for you! Or you might think about checking out College seniors who are majoring in photography. Or when you book your professional photographer, get the minimum package. Trust me, you can always add later on usually!
These are just a few tips, but I really liked this site and hope it helps you out as well! Have a WONDERFUL wedding! Remember, it's not about the wedding, but the marriage!

Did you know It’s Called Daylight Saving Time and not Daylight Savings Time?
I’ve been pronouncing that phrase incorrectly forever.
This was brought to my attention earlier this week. Apparently it’s a very common mistake, adding an “s” to Daylight Saving Time and calling it Daylight Savings Time. Another one, many people will say “Smokey The Bear” when his real name is just Smokey Bear.
ANYWAY… This Saturday Night before you finish listening to my show (which just so happens to be on WIL from 6PM until midnight) please remember to set you clock ahead one hour for Daylight Saving Time, otherwise the whole church will snicker when you stroll in for church service late.
You’ve heard it before, but I’ll remind you once again, it’s also a good time to swap out the batteries in you smoke and carbon monoxide detectors.
Have a great weekend and don’t forget to call it, its proper name DAYLIGHT SAVING TIME.

]]>What about the rude behavior (not to mention bloodshot mugshots) of celebrities like Mel Gibson (remember how he was to that policeman "allegedly"), Britney Spears (lest we forget the un-underwear shot) and Lindsay Lohan (just about everything she's done in the last two years)!
I admit, I watch Reality T.V., so aren't I just as guilty by adding to those psuedo-celeb's fifteen minutes?
Or maybe it takes time to be courteous and we live in a world where we're tapping our feet when it takes longer then 10 seconds to get on our web browsers, and we're rushing around all the time on ten cups of Starbucks! (LOVE their Cafe' Mocha's!)
Think on all the "rages" out there today: Cellphone rage, checkout rage, road rage, parking lot rage, bank rage, car alarm rage, honking drivers rage, pedestrian rage, parents yelling at coaches at their kids sporting event rage (otherwise known as "sideline rage) just to name a few!
Here's the big question...if it's getting worse, and we're getting meaner and ruder, can we turn it around? Is there any way that we, as a society, can get...nicer?
I have a friend who gives me the nickname "Pollyanna" because I'm always trying to look at the positive side of things. So having said that, yes, I do believe it's possible. But it's gonna take a LOT of work!
I saw an article online at Readers Digest and here are some suggestions on how to rise above Rude Behavior:
Don't meet Rude behavior with Rude behavior. Just because someone's being a jerk to you doesn't mean you have to do likewise! (My dad used to always say to me "Two wrongs don't make a right"!)
Remain Calm
Practice Restraint
Teach good manners early on to your kids. Please, Thank you, Sir and Ma'am can go a LONG way! (As any good country boy or girl know!) I've attached a great video on tips for teaching how NOT to be rude to your kids!
Presume Goodwill. That's my favorite because it goes along with my Pollyanna mentality! We can curb rudeness and make for a happier place for us all to reside! One "Please" and "Thank you" at a time!
I'll start by saying "Thank you" for reading this blog! :)

]]>SORRY (adj.): feeling regret, compunction, sympathy or pity.
It took over so many networks, you'd think something really meaningful had taken place in the news! No. It was just Tiger Woods saying "I'm sorry" for 14 minutes. PUHLEESE! Can we say "rehearsed"? And who wrote that stuff anyway? I don't believe it was actually Tiger, do YOU?
He should've really watched this short video on the CORRECT way to apologize! In one minute he might've had everyone eating out of his hand, and maybe he wouldn't still be eating in the DOG HOUSE! Perhaps he just wanted peoples pity (see definition, above!)
Make sure if YOU have to say you're sorry, do it the right way! Watch the video, and don't forget....THE GIFT! ;)
