Christmas Spirit (and JINGLEFEST tickets) Enclosed! Love, Cornbread

I need some help from my Breadhead army.

I got to see the Salvation Army operation in action last week, and decided we had to help these people this Christmas. So I adopted the Cornbread Christmas Kettle and vowed to do my best to get it filled.

YOU KNOW MY MOTTO…GO BIG OR GO HOME! AND THAT’S WHAT WE’RE GONNA DO!

On December 13, we undertake Operation Christmas Spirit!

We’re going to have the biggest bellringing that’s ever been undertaken by a group – at 32 WalMart and Sams Clubs in our listening area.

I NEED 200 BREADHEAD VOLUNTEERS TO MAN (OR WOMAN) THE KETTLES!

Cute kids, singing choirs, or clowns are welcome to dress it up! (Annie’s bringing homemade cookies and hot chocolate to hers.)

AS A CHRISTMAS THANK YOU FROM ME TO YOU, YOU’LL GET 2 JINGLFEST TICKETS FOR VOLUNTEERING FOR 2 HOURS AT THIS HISTORIC UNDERTAKING!

If this doesn’t put you in the Christmas spirit nothing will!

See you soon and Ho, Ho, Ho!
CORNBREAD

TO VOLUNTEER FOR THE BIG DAY:

Call Calley Heidelberg at the Salvation Army @ 314-646-3145

Tell her you want to volunteer for Cornbread’s Bellringing Brigade on December 13.

Two hours shifts are available from 10am – 6pm at most metro area WalMart and Sam’s Club locations, so you can volunteer close to home. The first 200 volunteers (age 16 and over) who volunteer for a shift, get a pair of Jinglefest tickets. (Tickets can be picked up at the show on December 10.)

If you are unable to volunteer and would just like to make a donation to CORNBREAD’S CHRISTMAS KETTLE CLICK HERE.

Give the gift of music…This is a list of Country cd’s in stores now!

No more new cd’s from Country artists till after the first of the year…so what I’ve done here is post your favorites that you hear on 92.3 WIL along with their title and date of release. I hope this helps when giving the gift of music.

The one cd that does the most has to be Cornbread’s Adopt a soldier benefit cd…click here for more info.

Christmas in Kimmswick

This weekend was our annual girls shopping weekend – aunts & cousins from 3 states came to St Louis to shop and then shop and shop more. We did eat a lot too!

Yesterday, I took them to Kimmswick. After our free Friday breakfast there a few weeks ago, I was reminded how much I enjoy this little Missouri town!

Of course we enjoyed lunch at The Blue Owl – I had a chicken salad baked pie that was amazing followed by white chocolate banana cream pie!!

The milk carton luminaries lining the street leading into town reminded me that we just missed the Christmas Open House on Saturday.

But they are just getting started in Kimmswick! The 2008 Old Fashioned Christmas Festival & Historic House Tour is Friday December 5 – Sunday December 7.

All weekend you can tour the log country and victorian houses decorated in holiday themes, enjoy the strolling carolers, take a carriage ride or meet SANTA!

Mrs. Claus even has an activity cottage where you can decorate cookies, have your face painted or mix a bag of reindeer food. (The activity cottage is located on Elm St. next to the Christmas Haus.)

House tour time & ticket information is HERE.
